Interprétation:
     L'indice est positif lorsqu'il est > 20 mm chez la femme ou 28 mm chez l'homme, voire 24 mm chez l'homme hypertendu blanc.
     Il n'est pas utilisable en présence d'un bloc de branche gauche (à un moindre degré hémibloc ou bloc incomplet gauche) ou d'une séquelle de nécrose dans le territoire qu'il explore. Il serait plus sensible que l'indice de Sokolow.
     Le Produit de Cornell est utilisé pour renforcer la performance diagnostique de l'ECG. Il est positif lorsque qu'il est ≥ 2440 mm.ms.
     L'indice de Cornell est l'indice le plus utilisé dans les pays anglo-saxons pour le diagnostic d'hypertrophie ventriculaire gauche. Il est parfois appelé indice de Casale.
